Juvenile
House League
Since the demise of the 417 Juvenile League in 2005, the closest organization offering a Juvenile league to play in is the Gloucester Hockey Association’s (GHA) Juvenile League. The GHA requires any association wishing to play in their league to declare whether they will be able to field a team by mid-September and to provide them with an appropriate amount of ice with which to schedule games. Juvenile games in the GHA are one hour in duration, similar to all house league games. During the regular season, the GHA generally only allows Juvenile games to be played on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings and on Sundays, that is, it does not normally allow regular season games to be played on Friday evenings or Saturdays. The GHA Juvenile League normally consists of teams within the Greater Ottawa area and games are typically played at the following arenas: Blackburn, Grandmaitre (Vanier), Walkley, Peplinski, Ray Friel (Orleans), Navan, Russell, Orleans Sportsplex, and Metcalfe.
Whether the CHA operates a Juvenile team (for players ages 18 to 20) in any given season is highly dependent on the number of players registered by about mid-September of each season. Therefore, if you are interested in playing Juvenile hockey, it is best to register before September.
